I’m convinced nothing will make Trayvon a victim in the eyes of America. At this point, Zimmerman could’ve hung Trayvon from a tree and carved “DIE NIGGER DIE” into his chest and people still would try to excuse as anything other than racism.
Again, cognitive dissonance.
When you can’t face the horrible truth of what your own people do, blame the other guy.
How much acrobatic rationalization is involved in insisting that Trayvon attacked and harmed Zimmerman when we know:
- Zimmerman outweighed Trayvon by over 100 pounds
- Zimmerman had the gun
- Trayvon had the Skittles and nothing more dangerous on his person.
- The video shows that Zimmerman did not have a goddamn scratch on him.
- The audio was analyzed and it was Trayvon crying for help
- The police corrected the witness to say it was Zimmerman when it was Trayvon crying for help
- The girl was on the phone with Trayvon at the time and can prove he made no threats to Zimmerman
- Zimmerman ignored the police telling him not to follow Trayvon
- Zimmerman disobeyed the police telling him not to follow Trayvon
- Zimmerman got out of the car with the gun
- The pictures of “gangsta” Trayvon were NOT THE SAME KID.
This is what denial looks like. Facts are facts, and these people are stretching themselves into crazy straw shapes to continue believing what makes them most comfortable. The proof of things does not matter. They believe what they want because it makes them feel bad to actually accept the facts as proof of what really happened.
